How to network computers at home (share files and remotely control)?
At home i have three computers, a desktop, a laptop, and another desktop that i use to record cctv. they are all connected to a switch and seitch to router. what is an easy and free way to link all these computers together so that i can share files and possibily remotely control the other computers in my network? 1 desktop and laptop is running vista, the other desktop is using xp.
right click my computer, go properties, remote tab. turn on remote desktop on each. you can then use remote desktop to log into any of them. if you want to just be able to file share you just need to right click on the files and go to share and security and click share then the files are visible when you go to that PC through my network places. the versions of windows don't matter. if you have trouble finding your remote desktop just go to run and type in mstsc
