Can I use 1TB external hard disk usb connection for laptop/notebook or only 320GB?
Is it wise to use 1 TB of external hard disk usb connection with windows laptop/notebook?
Or the largest size can be use is 320 GB? If so which brand is better, seagate or western?
Or there is a larger size that can be use?
I am currently using the Seagate FreeAgent Pro 1TB with my notebook. Works fine and has very a nice enclosure.
I can't say which brand is better, but Seagate offer 5 years warranty so i'm sold with Seagate. Otherwise there are something you should consider when buying an external drive: heat, noise and connectivity. I bought the Pro version of FreeAgent line because it has e-Sata interface, what is likely to become the norm for notebooks (although my laptop doesn't have it

Correction for the answer above mine: the capacity of external drives has nothing to do with their portability. It's the form factor eg. with 3.5" external drive you will probably need a power supply with it and it's harder to carry around. 2.5" drives (those are used for laptop) don't need much power so they only need one USB cable to work
