why are Americans so funny?

As an Englishman I would like to congratulate the American people on this site for their incredible sense of humour and all-round sharp wittedness.Not once have I noticed a joke taken seriously by an American user.They must have an inbuilt irony detector also.as nothing ironic passes them and they never react with swearing or threats.
Well done you Americans, keep it up.

Maybe they're just Brits pretending to be Americans, y'all!
