How do I use a 7.1 A/V receiver with only 5.1 speakers?
I have a 7.1 receiver at 90W per channel. My 5 speakers are rated at 150W. Can I get more power from my 2 unused channels playing it at 5.1 setting?
Yes, using only 5 speakers will boost the RMS watts going to them. Especially if you have a cheap receiver (under $800 is cheap).
