Can I use a higher DC voltage adapter to charge my camera battery?
I can't find my camera's cord that lets me plug into the wall to recharge the battery. A relative's cord fits into my camera, but it says the output is +9.5V (---3A) and my camera says the input should be 5.3V. Is it ok to use the higher voltage to charge the battery, or will something bad happen? Wish I knew more about electricity... :p
Most electronics have a circuit for regulating the input voltage, in most cases you can get away with a couple volts difference but in your case a 4.2 volt difference is too much to risk. Keep your electronics safe and get the proper voltage adapter.
