And how can I make the transmission go farther? What kind of antenna works the best? Will an amplifier help at all?

if it goes far enough to reach your neighbors house, its illegal. if anyone complains, the FCC will confiscate the equipment and charge a fine, although some times they fore go the forfeiture if you plead stupidity and promise not to be a repeat offender. the only "legal" FM transmitters are the 50 milliwatt units, and even those require you to avoid interference to any other party.

the company that sells these is in China, where they are legal. generally US customs will take these as contraband if you try and import them to the US. i am sure a few make it through, but it is chancy. This is not the same transmitter as used for LPFM stations. LPFM transmitters, like ALL broadcast transmitters must be type accepted by the FCC before they can be sold in the US.
