For Laserdisc players, is there a noticeable video quality difference between composite and s-video output?

I've read that unlike DVD, Laserdisc is a composite video format where the luminance (black and white) and chrominance (color) information are transmitted in one signal. Therefore, is there any real benefit in using an S-video connection?
