Can you record from a VCR or DVD onto a DVR?
I don't yet have a DVR but noticed that some models have IN composite jacks. What are these jacks used for? Are they used for input of a VCR or DVD so that this content can be recorded onto the DVR?
Is it possible in any way to play a DVD or VHS tape and record content from it onto a DVR, even if the DVR doesn't have IN composite jacks? Thanks.
Just about every DVR has a manual record function. The jacks are used to to manual recordings.
Even if it does not have the jacks, If you can record off cable/ antenna then you can record off VHS.
Just hook the RF output of the VCR to the cable input of the DVR and select channel 3 or 4 (output channel of the VCR) and hit the record button on the DVR.
