Is it more difficult to edit digital images shot at 24 FPS?
Particularly as regards the timing of recorded audio separately. I think I'll be editing with final cut.
it depends if the camcorder and audio recorder to work specifications professional. if the camera records at 24 frames per second exactly and audio is sampled at 48kHz, so you have exactly 2000 audio samples per frame, and every video ends exactly one audio sample. which continuously updated, at least for the pairing of a particular source. But many consumer audio recorders work at a rate 41.1 kHz sample as audio CDs. Here you will find that the audio sampling rate is not a multiple of the rate of 24 frames per second video image. this means that for every video editing cut, the corresponding audio track will be a truncated sample. Another problem with consumer camcorders often use the same timeframe as crystal for NTSC / PAL frame rate, this results in 24 fps, but not video 23.97 fps so it is not possible to lock either 48 kHz or 41.1 kHz. the biggest problem with consumer camcorders is that they generally use AVCHD or equivalent coding for compression. AVCHD uses an 8 frame GOF. GOF in the first image is taken, then the next 7 are throws, missing frames are interpolated guessed on reading. So, at 24 fps there are only 3 mounting points per second. this will result in very rapid loss and sensitive to lip sync. to answer your question, the issue may be no problem at all, or a nightmare depending on the equipment that was used.
