Can I record dish network shows to a dvr without paying for the dvr service.?
I subscribe to Dish netwrok. Can I buy any DVR and record the signal?
So you want to buy some DVR and connect to your Dish Network receiver such that you can record shows?
Lets assume for a minute that you were able to do this. Now to record a show, two actions are necessary.
1. Tune your receiver at the right time to the right channel.
2. Tell your DVR to record at the right time for the right period of time.
Even if there were one that you did not have to pay for, to record a show on this system would now become such a pain in the butt that it would out weigh the good things about a DVR. And all of this to "save" $5 or $7 per month?
And the fact is any DVR service I am aware of costs money and more than what Dish will charge you.
