Can i hook up suround sound with out audio out puts?
All i have on my tv is just the traditional red, white, and yellow in puts. and the suround sound system i want to hook up is a dvd combo....however i would like the suround sound to work while i am watching tv not just ony when i watch dvds.
The television is not normally broadcast in surround sound. However, when it is, it's encoded into the two channels with Dolby. Your dvd needs to have a decoder and you would just connect the left and right audio channels from the TV to the inputs (aux) of the DVD player or amplifier. You may find that your player does not support this in which case you will need a separate decoder or amp. Look for 5:1 or Dolby.
You can also get pseudo surround sound systems that simulate the effect.
