If i have a wireless camera can i hook it up to a laptop and would both the camera and the laptop need Wi-fi?
i want to know if i could set up a wireless camera outside my house in my back yard (which does not have wi-fi) and if i could watch it from the inside of my house. If not a wireless camera can anything do this?
You don't need WiFi - e.g. a wireless router and an internet connection.
So long as your computer has a wireless card/device then you should be fine.
If you check the small print on the product description you should look for the phase "ad-hoc network". That means that the wireless camera can connect directly to your laptop and does not need a router. Maybe call the pre-sales support line for the product and ask if the camera supports "ad-hoc" use.
