Can an alarm system be disarmed if your power goes out?
I was just wondering, if you had an alarm system and someone who was trying to get into your house cut your power off, then would the alarm system still work?
ANOTHER QUESTION: and why is the main power thing outside, where someone could easily shut it off in the first place?
IF SOMEONE SHUTS OFF YOUR POWER THE BACK UP BATT WILL KICK IN AND IT WILL LAST ABOUT 8 HOURS, ALSO WHEN YOUR POWER IS SHUT OFF IT WILL SEND A AC LOSS TO THE MONITORING STATION AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU A CALL ABOUT IT. IF I WAS YOU I WOULD GET A OUTDOOR BELL AND A CELL BACK UP INSTALLED IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT IT.
A CELL BACK UP WORKS IF SOME ONE CUTS YOUR PHONE LINE THE CELL BACK UP WILL SEND THE ALARM THROUGH THE WIRELESS NETWORK. THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE THAT.
